A Night with El Tequileno Tequila at Jorge's

On Thursday, September 24th, we hosted our latest tequila dinner at Jorge’s, this time featuring El Tequileño Tequila. We built the night around great tequila, delicious crafted courses from our kitchen, and plenty of conversation about the history and tradition behind what was in our glasses.

A big part of the evening was learning more about tequila itself. Throughout the tasting, we dug into its history, how it’s made, and some of the traditions that have shaped tequila over the years. We also got to know El Tequileño, learning more about the brand’s story and approach to tequila while tasting throughout the evening.

Dinner started with a smoked fajita steak roll as our first bite, followed by an heirloom tomato salad. For the main course, we served a Duroc pork chop with street corn and a twice-baked Mexican sweet potato. We finished the night with a lime and chile dessert, a bright final course after a full evening of food and tequila.

As the night went on, there were plenty of questions, conversations, and new things to learn. That’s one of our favorite parts of these dinners. You get to taste tequila in a different way, learn some of the history behind it, and spend a little more time thinking about what’s actually in your glass.

Of course, the group made the night. Good food, plenty of tequila, and a room full of people ready to try something new. Nights like this are exactly why we keep bringing tequila dinners back to Waco, and we’re already looking forward to the next one at Jorge’s.

Last Disco

The fan-favorite cocktail of the night was the Last Disco, and we’re sharing the recipe so you can make it at home.

Here’s how to make it at home.
• 1 oz El Tequileño Blanco Tequila
• 0.5 oz Elderflower Liqueur
• 1.25 oz Simply Peach Juice (or juice of choice)
• Cava (or other sparkling wine)
• Dash of edible glitter

Shake the tequila, elderflower liqueur, and peach juice over ice until cold. Strain over fresh ice into an old fashioned glass. Top with Cava and finish with a dash of edible glitter.
